Sometimes the most successful way to catch fish is to just flat out grind it out.  Those of you that fished Saturday or tried to fish Saturday, found the wind blowing 20 mph out of the North – Northeast at daylight.  I had three experienced wadefishermen that all knew what we were in for, especially since the wind was forecast to increase as the day progressed and it did. We decided to grind it out on a somewhat protected shoreline. It was not fast and furious but I could see some fish being landed every now and then. We were all a couple hundred yards apart so it was kind of hard to tell what everyone was doing.  At about 3:00 PM I made my way by all them to get the boat.  After getting them picked up I went to unstringing, measuring and putting their catch on ice.

The final count was over 30 fish with the majority being drum.  One  25'' trout was also caught and released. You have to remember that these guys were hard core - in the water at daylight and didn't get back in the boat till after three.  Then they got the boat ride back in a 40 mph northeast wind that I think Sixflags would of been proud of.

Have fun out there,

Ottis
